Planet Beer series update: JUPITER will NOT be released on 2/06. Two BiG reasons: 1) the painstaking process involved in this champagne process [we are still riddling] and B) the time and effort required by this new building. Both projects are all-encompassing and very worthy but we just can't make JUPITER happen right now. We will keep U posted. Thanks for your support!

Congrats to Lagunitas, Sleeping Lady and Glacier for winning awards for their barley wines at GABBF 2009. We fully enjoyed the fest and all related events. Humpy's Planet Beer dinner was completely fabulous. I got some great photos, which will be posted in the next week or so. For more on our chicken caper, click on Operation: Fowl Play.

Specialty Imports' 30th Anniversary Black Double IPA is a BiG HiT. It sold out to retailers before the fest so we're brewing more. Find it on draft and in 22-oz bottles throughout Alaska.

Beer/Food Pairing of the Week: Kinley's Moroccan Lamb Shank with Venus. U will D-I-E. Both are rich, dark, complex, spiced to perfection.
