Dear SeeKers of BeeR that RocKs Yer World:

If your BeeR RoCKs, then RoCK the VOTE. Click HERE to vote for "the Best Pacific Northwest Craft Brewery". BuT voting endz on SAT 7/11 at 8 PM PDT...so you've got less than 36 hours to cast yer vote and that's assuming you are [wo]manning yer inbox aND actually reading this dang ale-mail. I know...there are The Skippers and The Skimmers. Luckily I also have soMe ReaL Readers/Do-ers out in my distro. The latter group is gonna have to make it happen for the whole of us. And I'm not even trying to sway yer vote. We are lucky to live in a land with sO many kick@$$ breweries. Just VoTe. [Thanx to Don B for the heads uP, Baby. Su casa es mi casa. Oops. Of course, I mean the other way 'round.]

BREWERY TOURS at our new building every THU at 6 PM. Mark yer calendars. Tell yer friends. Don't be late. Come early. Stay t'eight.

Panty Peeler Tripel and Meltdown Double IPA return to the taps today, FRI 7/10. So whether you're a coriander freaK like me or a double-down hophead like Marko, we've got The Goods. Both available for growler- and keg-fills. Be sure to give our brewers a big smack on the back when you see them. They are busTin' it out for U and mE--every week.

Big Slick American Barley Wine, our fifth 2009 Crew Brew--is ouT and on the warpath. Almost 12% ABV and 100 IBUs. I know, righT?! And if you don't want to rush straight into a Big Slick, you can temper yer palate with Meltdown Double IPA. It finally returns to the taps on FRI 7/10. Unfortunately, Sockeye Red IPA is gonna run out on said FRI and not return until MON. But since the MeltDowners were so cooperative and sucked down Sockeye for three weeks, I think it's only fair that the Sockeye RedHeads switch to Meltdown for the weekend-plus. Ya in?

And while our BeeR is flowin' through the taps at record speeds, our women's "Beer Chick" tees are ripping up the register. The new "burnout" tees--just put yer hand under the tee fabric and you will see, well, YeaH...sKin...it's there; it's not there; it's there; it's not there--are the hottest aND cooLest way to sport our MSBC yin-yang sunface logo. I'm ordering more next week. These will definitely be your new favorite tees--they are completely marsHmallow: soft, light, fluffy...but without The Gooey. sO maybe they are aiR more than 'mallow. These tees and our new The Fidel caps are made by Alternative Apparel and printed/embroidered by AK Serigraphics--our longtime friends and now landmark neighbors. [If you see AK Serigraphics at the Dimond-becomes-Hartzell turn, you know you are close to our new location.] Wispy tees and ballcaps with 'tude.

SPECIAL: Through the end of JUL, buy ANY two tees--women's, men's, short- or long-sleeve--and get one of our yellow-on-black logo tees FREE. We're not crazy. We just love U.

modern industrial vibe. crazy cool beer.

The latest 2009 Crew Brew:
On FRI 7/03 we released Big Slick; we are pouring 6- and 12-oz glasses in the Loft as well as selling 22's "to go".

This kick ass American Barley Wine is all about The Hops— Nugget, Chinook, Simcoe and Centennial. And, yeah, LoTs of ‘em. OK…there’s a substantial malt base on which these juicy Pacific NW hops lie down and do their dirty work. But...maybe that’s too much info.

Grant is the guy who presents and represents MSBC beers out in the field. He is solid+steadfast+diligent. But outside of slinging MSBC beer, Grant is a beast on the baseball field. He aaRggGHs it out with the Fairview Pirates of the Alaska Baseball league
--holds several records in any given week. And then, there’s poker. Grant knows his way around The River. But even he can’t avoid the temptation of a Big Slick. Can U?

BIG SLICK is the best non-paired hand in Texas Hold 'em but veterans advise against betting this combo. But you--I think, YOU--can beat the odds.

Beer/Food Pairing of the Week: Spending a few days at our friends' cabin last weekend, our brunch included "everythang" bagels, toasted and topped with creamy cream cheese, chunks of smoked salmon with peppercorns, and thinly sliced red onion...then paired with Old Whiskers Hefeweizen. Now ThaT is simple cabin fare at its best. And while we enjoyed this lovely pairing al fresco in some glorious clear-sky 70-plus-degree weather, I would have mmm'd through every bite had it been a cold-and-cloudy, sky-spittin' fest. Background info: We've been brewing Old Whiskers German-style Hefeweizen since our first summer in 1995--when German-style [vs. American] Heffies were not really understood. "What's this smelly, cloudy liquid you are calling BeeR?" That's when I dubbed it "spunky and chunky" and the nicknames stuck. OW has been our perennial summer seasonal ever since. Word on The Street: Beginning this month, OW is available on draft and in 22's throughout AK from our amazing distributor, Specialty Imports. We are going to push out production of OW and run it through this winter. If it sells well, we'll add it to the year-round list. Its fate is now in [y]our charge but U know I'll do mY part.

TRAVEL TIP: Our GM Gary is organizing a BLOCK PARTY in McCarthy--yeah, look it up on a map--on FRI AUG 07. It will be a complete blast. I'm thinking MaYHeM will ensue. From Anchor-town, it's a bit of a drive but we're thinking folks might want to organize some caravans to get there and back safely. Of course, you'll have to stay [at least] the night but RVs, tent camping and local accomodations are options. We'll have more deeTs soon but if this sounds like a "do-er," mark yer calendars and stay tuned.

We've got LoTs of FaBuLouS, FRiVoLouS FuN for you this and every season. Come by the NEW brewery. The BeeR is aLways BOLD.

Come early...stay t'eight.

Cheers,
