A pilsner on steroids. Starting with a simple grain bill of pilsner and wheat malt, we added dextrose to raise the starting gravity and help encourage a dry, crisp finish after fermentation. Four different hop additions during the boil of Citra and Ekuanot bring a bitterness and strong hop flavor typical of a Double IPA. Both hops are American varietals that produce strong citrus and berry aromatics, Ekuanot imparts strong papaya and lime notes, while Citra adds grapefruit and passion fruit aromatics.
