Sticking with references from the great tv show Trailer Park Boys, our latest and greatest Hazy IPA, Friends With Benedicts has a unique aroma/ flavor profile that’s sure to have you question, “Who are the Benedicts?”. This Hazy IPA imparts aromas of tangerine, coconut, and tropical fruits from both mash and post boil whirlpool hop additions. We then fermented with Omega Yeast Cosmic Punch strain to help unlock all these flavors and maximize this tropical profile. Add in a double dry hop and we’re all saying, “Maybe we could become friends with benedicts!”

28 Anniversary Brew

In celebration of 28 years of brewing bold beer in the last frontier, 28 Imperial Pale Stout is a bold expression on a style that has less than bold guidelines. Our approach was to highlight the intense flavors of an imperial stout, with a target appearance in color that is in between a pale and amber ale. In the brewhouse we ran a 5 hour boil to create more body and depth. Once fermentation was complete, we aged this beer for a few months in Heaven Hill Rye Whiskey and Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels. Since there are no roasted or caramel malts in the grain bill, we added toasted cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and Guatemala, Waykan cold brew in the mix from our friends at Kaladi Brothers Coffee to reinforce a warming spice with notes of raisin & chocolate. Is it a pale? Is it a stout? It’s our anniversary beer, 28 Imperial Pale Stout!

Arctic Devil (Blanton’s)

Arctic Devil Barley Wine, aptly named after the ferocious wolverine of the north, is an English-style barley wine that ages to perfection in oak barrels for several months before being blended, bottled and released in the fall. This highly acclaimed and awarded barley wine is a classic annual release of Midnight Sun, where a deceptively simple grain bill turns into big bold flavors hosting hints of caramel, vanilla, slight fruitiness, and strong malt sweetness that claw to the surface with every sip.

For 2022, we brewed two ferocious AD variations using two different world-class bourbon barrels – Weller & Blanton’s. Blanton’s bourbon was the world’s first “single barrel” bourbon, famous for its deep aromatics of nutmeg and spices, and strong notes of caramel and corn. Blanton’s sweet & spicy flavor profiles compliment Arctic Devil perfectly, and we can’t wait for you to unleash the wonderful flavors that wait within.

Arctic Devil (Weller)

For 2022, we brewed two ferocious AD variations using two different world-class bourbon barrels – Weller & Blanton’s. Weller Antique barrels host wheat bourbon, distilled at the famous Buffalo Trace Distillery known for making its legendary bourbon whiskey for over 200 years. Weller’s high-proof bourbon hosts sweet floral notes accompanied by strong hints of vanilla and spice, bringing out the best of Arctic Devil’s bold bite.

Berber Kingdom

A variant of our annual Imperial Stout, Berserker, Berber Kingdom brings warmth & flavors from halfway across the globe into one crisp cold Alaska brew. This dark delicacy was conditioned on a Ras El Hanout spice blend sourced straight from Morocco by our head chef Jimbo. The literal translation from Arabic to English is “head of shop”, also known as “top self” – meaning it’s the finest offering a spice shop has to offer. While this unique blend of spices varies from one spice shop to another in different North African countries, our unique Moroccan blend boasts flavors of cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, mace, and ginger. The varying spices and sweet bourbon flavors from barrel aging cumulate to create one exceptionally unique & tasty variety of a MSBC classic.

Berserker (2022)

27 is a big, bad, & bold barrel-aged imperial stout created to commemorate our 27th year of brewing in The Last Frontier!

We used a combination honey malt & special b to balance out roasted qualities and produce a less astringent and more malt forward Imperial Stout. Aging in port barrels brought out a nice vinous character with hints of stone fruits, and Cognac barrel aging brings everything home with a balancing sweetness & complexity that shines through this dark delicious anniversary brew.
